Hi hi! 
We ventured to campus today to explore and we found it is approximately a 15 minute walk from our apartment to the iron gates, farther for some classes I’m sure. We expect to allow 30 minutes to travel to class starting out- not leaving your homework by accident becomes important in this situation.
The main quad is BEAUTIFUL just like in pictures! I can finally say I’ve taken a picture of it and that is something I’ve wanted to do for years. It is still very surreal. I don’t exactly feel like a tourist here and I think we all feel more comfortable here with each passing day.
We made our own dinner tonight and it was very lovely! Molly and Kristen went for our first bottle of wine with dinner as Britta and I stayed in the kitchen to cook chicken and pasta. We all used our strengths and worked very well together the kitchen is big enough to have all of us in there at once. Molly and Kristen helped out a lot with dishes and making the salad. Tonight we might go check out some places that say they have live music. Last night was very successful exploring the nightlife! We checked out a few pubs, met some very nice people, learned a lot, and experimented with drinks! We even got to dance for a little while and I have to say the men are very respectful in a pub/club setting and the women are more friendly to us. I personally find that quite a contrast to the norms in the USA from my own experience. I have also learned that I love pina coladas. Now I can sing that song.
For those who are looking to get out on the Cork scene: We went to the The Classic Bar and then Reardens Pub for dancing.

Wow! Looks like you’re having a lot of fun, already! We went to this one place in Cork called Bob Fox’s. It seemed like it was for the older crowd in Cork, but the bartenders were really chill and just let us dance and sing.. and they even played American music for us too. It was lots of fun.
